Silk scarf with Chinese text
Story of the block
I’m not sure that this is really a scarf from China. It is a silk scarf printed with an ancient Chinese scarf text that my mother bought for me at the Louvre during one of her many visits to Paris, the city where she was born.
My mother loved beautiful objects. Before she came to the United States in 1947, she had purchased a number of etchings, faience and other objets d’art; she managed to bring many of them to the US with her and they decorated our working-class home in Cleveland.
