Sambhalpuri style embroidered sari from Orissa, India

Desai Quilt Block

Story of the block

I took the embroidered peacock saree to the temple today. There was a lady there from Orrisa and she confirmed for me that this saree is indeed an Orissa saree, from the western part of the state called Sambhalpur. That makes it a Sambhalpuri style/Orrisa saree.
